History
1998-2002
The beginnings
Dr. Markus Müller, the chief executive officer of aixonix AG headquartered in Aachen, Germany, founded the Aixonix GmbH in 1998. The name of the company was created to represent the bond with the city of Aachen (its French name is "Aix La Chapelle") as well as the primary focus of aixonix in information technology (with the ancient Greek term 'Axon' meaning the information conducting appendix of a nerve cell).
The business idea: web based transmission of complex information on technical processes and products. In order to explain these products and processes, information- and service platforms were developed and merchandised. The services offered included technological analysis, technological management, and knowledge management.
2002-2005
Reorientation
Following the dot-com crisis and the insolvency of the aixonix GmbH, a new start was made in 2002 with aixonix Solutions AG, which focused on planning, conceptualization, and realization of IT-systems and business processes.
The service portfolio: analysis, consulting, strategy development, system specification and software development, integration and implementation of IT-solutions, evaluation and conception of IT-architecture with emphasis on sustainable information architecture.
